The photography that my blog is focused around would be used in advertising agencies. Most ad agencies are focused on images and thrive when high quality and interesting images are used. Advertising agencies do a ton of really cool and creative work but don’t get the credit for it very often. When you see a commercial, you don’t think, “who made this”, you think, “Wow! That was cool!”

So how do advertising agencies advertise themselves? Recently, they have been promoting themselves through what they call a Reel. The reels are possibly one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a while. When looking for an internship this summer, I have been researching different agencies to work for. The agencies that have a reel to showcase are agencies that I am 100x more likely to be interested in applying for.

The work advertising agencies do is showcased on tv, on snapchat, and all other forms of social media, but the specific ad agency is not.

Here is an example of one of my favorite reels from Vitro.

Vitro is an ad agency located in San Diego, CA

Here is an article from fstoppers about the 5 things we can all learn from the best reel on the internet.

The article explains that hard work always pays off, and that collaboration is key. In my opinion, creativity is crucial, and is the only thing that really draws my attention.

Here is a second article about an agency reel.
