Photography in some ways is a dying art. People used to pay really good money to have the best quality pictures, but now, people can take really great quality pictures using just their phones. To be a successful photographer in these times, you have to be creative with the ways you take pictures, and have to have stand-out editing skills. People are looking for photographers who can edit the way they look and make them appear flawless and beautiful. In order to stand out among other photographers, you need to come up with new and interesting backgrounds for pictures, and need to be able to instruct people how to pose so that they feel comfortable and enjoy the picture taking experience. It is so much harder to make it in the business of photography especially now with social media being all the craze. People want their pictures to post immediately after you take them. As a photographer, editing can take several hours depending on how many pictures you take in a set. For me, it can take four to five days to get pictures back to someone which is still a quick turn around because some days I will spend three or four hours editing someone’s photos.
This video is one I made to represent the qualities of being a photographer who people want to hire. It demonstrates the following qualities…
Interesting background
Posing direction
Editing skills
Quick editing turnover
